The Humboldt Broncos are proud to announce the commitment of 2007-born forward Simon Ward for the 2025-26 season.
Ward, a Trail, BC native, has recently completed the regular season with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds U18 AAA program where he finished fourth on his team with 44 points (10g-34a) in 34 games to go along with 38 PIMS.
“Simon is a solid power-forward who is physically strong and mature for his age. He thinks the game at a very high-level. One of those players that executes no matter where you slot him in the lineup. He had a very productive season this year and should make a difference offensively instantly,” said Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko.
Ward, listed at 6’2 – 209lbs was drafted 180th overall by the Vancouver Giants in the 2022 WHL draft. His Thunderbirds teammates and himself will take on the Vancouver NW Hawks in the first round of the 2025 playoffs with Game 1 scheduled for Friday, March 7th.
Ward’s Broncos’ debut won’t be his first at the Jr. A level, as he’s suited up for two games with the Victoria Grizzlies in the BCHL as a 15-year-old during the 2022-23 season.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Simon and his family to the organization and community.
