With Nipawin’s victory over the Kindersley Klippers on Tuesday night the Hawks clinched their first division championship in 18 seasons. The victory also secured a mouth-watering first round match-up between the Broncos and the Melfort Mustangs in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs.

The rivals will play game one Friday, March 16 at the Northern Lights Palace. Games three and four are slated for the Elgar Petersen Arena March 20 and 21. The Broncos have teamed up with Johnny’s Bistro and the Humboldt Co-op to offer some postseason promotions. If you purchase advance tickets from the gas bar you will receive $2 off a fuel fill, ticket purchasers from Johnny’s will receive $5 off a meal.

Co-op manager Blair Molsberry said the Broncos and Co-ops both like to give back to the community and the region making the partnership an easy sell.

“We felt it was important for the Humboldt Co-op to be involved with the playoff ticket pre-sale because the Broncos are an integral part of our community. The team has a major impact on many people, especially the youth in our community and the surrounding area. When they came to us to sell tickets we thought it was a great way for us to give them a hand,” Molsberry said.

Advance adult tickets are $15, $10 for students and children are $5. At the gate the prices increase by $2.
