Broncos’ captain Logan Schatz’s nine points last week has earned the Allan product the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League player of the week for the last seven days of February.
The four-year Bronco scored once and assisted on eight other Bronco goals in a trio of victories over the last week. Humboldt routed Melfort 6-0 on Feb. 19 with the assistance of Schatz’s three assists; Schatz provided six assists in back to back wins over La Ronge on the weekend.
Head coach Darcy Haugan said Schatz continues to succeed within the team’s program.
“Logan was great for us this week and it’s fantastic to see him honoured for how hard he is working everyday both on and off the ice,” Haugan said.
Schatz sits second overall in SJHL scoring with 84 points. That surpasses Andrew Johnston’s 81 during the 2011-12 season.
