Red hot Broncos pepper player of the month honours

For the second time this season Broncos’ captain Logan Schatz is the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) player of the month.

The Allan product produced five goals and 15 assists in nine games in February increasing the four-year Broncos’ total points this season to 84 points. Schatz’s point total is the most since Andrew Johnston piled up 81 in the 2011-12 season. Overall he has 191 points in 186 games with the green and gold.

Humboldt netminder Parker Tobin was recognized with the goaltender of the month award as well by the SJHL. The 18 year-old rookie puck stopper was 7-1 during the month posting a 1.99 goals against average and .929 save percentage. Tobin is 14-5-1 on the season with a pair of shut-outs.

Sniper Logan Hunter is the SJHL rookie of the week runner-up. Hunter had five goals and nine points in eight games in February. Hunter’s 20 goals sit second among rookie scorers behind Weyburn’s Jordan Kazymyra.
