The Humboldt Broncos opened up their two-game homestand with a 5-1 victory over the Estevan Bruins.
The Broncos were back at home following a three-game road trip and hosted the Bruins inside the EPA on Wednesday, November 20th.
Humboldt native Noah Barlage scored his first career SJHL goal in the first period to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, although the ice was slanted in the favour of the Bruins resulting in a 27-17 shot differential after two periods of play, the Broncos held on to their 1-0 lead heading into the third.
Three minutes into the third, Estevan scored the game-tying goal courtesy of CJ Corazzin. However, the Broncos didn’t let that get them down and pushed back with a wonderful response. Goals 17 seconds apart from Bryson Cecconi and Chase Felgueiras gave the Broncos a 3-1 lead. Then a pair of empty netters by Zach McIntyre and Justin Jamer helped provide the win, secured two points, and sent the Bruins back home to their den with a loss.
Brendan Forman stopped 36 of 37 shots faced for his 11th win of the season.
The Broncos will be back in action the next day on Thursday, November 21st to wrap up the midweek homestand against the Weyburn Red Wings.
