The Humboldt Broncos had two players take weekly honours from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League on Monday.
20 year-old Saskatoon product Connor Swystun was named the Defenseman of the Week. The four year Bronco collected one goal and four assists for five points over three games. Swystun has 12 points in 13 games played this season.
Also noticed for his play was 17 year-old Erik Gardiner. The hometown sniper scored twice against Flin Flon Wednesday plus had two more goals on Saturday night in Kindersley earning him Rookie of the Week recognition. He has six goals and an assist in four games since being sent to the Broncos from the Regina Pats.
