Tobin takes goaltender of the week

Parker Tobin’s play versus the Melfort Mustangs has landed the netminder the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) goaltender of the week honour.

The Stony Plain, Alta. product stepped into the starting role in game three of the Broncos’ quarter-final series and backstopped Humboldt to three straight wins. Tobin’s playoff stats include a 0.99 goals-against-average and .968 save-percentage and a shut-out in the deciding game five win.

Tobin, 18, and the Broncos are now preparing for a semi-final showdown with the Nipawin Hawks that begins on Friday at the Centennial Arena. Games three and for are slated for the Elgar Petersen Arena on April 3 and 4.
