The Humboldt Broncos are excited to announce the signing of Boston Schmidt for the 2026/27 SJHL season.
Schmidt is a 5’10”, left-shot forward from Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, who is continuing his development this season with the Estevan Bears U18 AAA in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL).
Schmidt originally made the Broncos out of fall camp, but after discussions it was determined the best development path would be for him to return to U18 AAA for another season — a move that has already proven valuable as he continues to elevate his offensive game. Currently, Schmidt sits 6th in U18 AAA scoring, showcasing the pace and skill that makes him such an exciting long-term addition for Humboldt.
Broncos Head Coach/GM Brayden Klimosko spoke highly of what Schmidt brings to the organization:
“Boston made our team in the fall, but we felt it would be best for his development to go back for another year in Estevan. He was our first signing of the year, and we’ve liked his game from day one. Boston plays with tremendous pace and has great offensive instincts. We’re excited to welcome him to the Broncos family.”
Schmidt adds another talented piece to the Broncos’ 2026/27 roster build, continuing Humboldt’s commitment to recruiting high-upside Saskatchewan talent and developing players to thrive at the next level.
