BRONCOS WELCOME BACK GOALTENDER BRETT MIRWALD

The Humboldt Broncos are happy to announce the re-acquisition of 2003-born goaltender Brett Mirwald from the MJHL’s Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Mirwald returns to the Broncos as part of a past trade during the 2021/22 season that saw the Saskatoon, SK native sent to the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL. He was subsequently shipped to the Wolverines where he finished with a 7-7-0 record to go along with a 2.95 GAA and a .904 SV%.

Mirwald, a 6th round draft pick of the Humboldt Broncos back in 2018, suited up for two games with the green and gold in the 2019/20 season, putting together stellar performances with a 2.01 GAA and .953 SV%.

“We’re very excited to have Brett back in a Broncos’ Jersey,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney. “We feel he can be a top-tier goalie in the SJHL. He’s shown it in the past in his brief time here playing with the guys, and he was great with the Moose Jaw Warriors a couple years ago in the WHL bubble.”

Mirwald, a 154th overall draft pick of the Moose Jaw Warriors, has played 19 career games in the WHL.

The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Brett back to the Broncos and the community.
