Broncos Sign 2004 Forward Xavier Roy

More Major Junior experience is making its way to Humboldt.

The Broncos have signed 2004 born forward Xavier Roy for the 2022/23 season.

Roy marks the second player with QMJHL experience the Broncos have recruited to their stables in the
past week, following the acquisition of goaltender Tristan Boileau.

Roy made his rookie debut in the QMJHL last season with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens where he picked
up 6 points in 29 games throughout the regular season. He also added 3 points in 3 playoffs games.
“Xavier is another player that has come in a connection to a former Bronco, Stephane Huard Jr, “said
Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney. “Xavier is a great 200-foot player that just turned 18 years old, so we
think he’s just starting to scratch the surface of what he’s really capable of. We think he’s going to be an
exciting player in this league. He’s coming in with a year of Major Junior experience and we can’t wait to
get him into a game soon.”

Prior to making the jump to the QMJHL, Roy played prep school hockey in 2019/20 with College St-
Hilaire, accumulating 22 points in 24 games. His 2020/21 year was cancelled due to the COVID-19
pandemic.

He was also just recently drafted 18 th overall by the Valleyfield Braves of the QJHL this year.

The Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Xavier and his family to the team and the
community.
