Tyrone Sobry Commits to Broncos for 2023/24 Season

The Humboldt Broncos are proud to announce that 2006 born defenseman, Tyrone Sobry has
committed to the team for the 2023/24 SJHL Season.
Sobry was drafted by the Broncos in the second round, 21 st overall, in the 2022 SJHL Draft this past June.
He is now the fifth draft pick of this year’s draft to commit to the Broncos.
“We are excited on the commitment of Tyrone to the Humboldt Broncos next year. He is a smooth
skating D-man who takes a lot up the ice and is hard to play against,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott
Barney. “We believe he’s another one of our draft picks that has a very bright future with the Broncos.”
Sobry currently plays with the Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA program where he has 14 points (7g, 7a) in
17 games this season, leading the Contacts in defensive scoring.
The Sobry’s have a past connection to the Broncos. Rick Sobry, Tyrone’s father, was a former Bronco
goaltender that played over 150 games from 1995-1998.
In addition to being drafted by the Broncos, Tyrone, who is listed at 6’2 170lbs, was also drafted 187 th
overall by the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Tyrone and his family to the
organization and community.
