The Humboldt Broncos are proud to announce the signing of 2004-born goaltender, Edouard Gauthier for the upcoming 2024-25 Season.
Gauthier, a native of Blainville, QC, played Major Junior last season in the QMJHL for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Logging over 1200 minutes through 25 games played, Gauthier posted a 7-12-2 record to go along with a 3.67 GAA, and .885 SV%.
“Obviously there’s a big hole to fill with (Ben) Motew not returning this season. Edouard has a great deal of experience having played in the QMJHL and we feel he will be an excellent replacement. He’s an athletic goalie that has decent size and we’re excited to have him as a Bronco for the upcoming season,” said Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko.
Listed at 6’1, Gauthier was drafted 121st overall by the QMJHL’s Victoriaville Tigers in 2020. Prior to making the jump, he finished the 2022-23 season in the QCHL posting a stellar 15-3 record.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Edouard and his family to the organization and community.
