Broncos Acquire Rights to Forward Jack Piper

The Humboldt Broncos have acquired the rights to 2004-born forward Jack Piper from the Stouffville Spirit of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) in exchange for future considerations.

Piper suited up for the OJHL’s Collingwood Blues last season where he accumulated 16 points (7g-9a) in 49 games as a rookie.

“We are excited to add a young forward with the capabilities that Jack has to offer,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney. “He’s already completed a year of Junior-A hockey and plays the game hard at both ends of the ice. We are looking for an immediate impact and excited about this move for our organization and fans.”

Piper’s offensive production was on full display in his final year of U16 AAA hockey with the York Simcoe Express in 2019/20. The Ontario native was scoring at nearly a goal-per-game rate, putting up 32 goals and 14 assists in 33 games.

Piper was drafted 90th overall in the 2020 OHL Draft.

The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Jack and his family to the organization and community.
