The Humboldt Broncos have signed 2003 born forward Cage Newans.
Newans, who comes to the Broncos from the Victoria Royals in the Western Hockey League, suited up for seventeen games in last year’s covid shortened season. The season before, Newans split time between Victoria in the WHL and his hometown Oceanside Generals in the VIJHL, amassing seventeen goals and thirty points in thirty-nine games.
Broncos staff are familiar with Newans’ game and expect the Parksville, BC born product to come in and play a prominent role with the Broncos. Cage has a quick release shot and is not afraid to go to the tougher areas of the ice.
The Broncos play on the road in Battlefords Friday night, and back home at the Elgar Petersen arena Saturday. Look for Newans to be suited up both nights.
