Melfort Mustangs vs Humboldt Broncos
Saturday, September 8th at the Northern Lights Arena in Melfort, SK
The Broncos had a tough night in Melfort on Sept 8th. Though they fought hard, Melfort came out playing a very physical and chippy game.
The larger, slower Mustangs dominated the pace of the game by making some ferocious hits and by constantly pushing, shoving and hacking behind the play. Seemingly the referees were oblivious to the Mustang’s antics, but always seemed to catch the Bronco player’s retaliation that happened as a result.
The Broncos spent a considerable time fighting off power plays and never really got their offence going throughout the game.
Melfort won the game 4-0. Mustang goals were scored by: Meyers, Smith, and Stevenson scored twice.
