SOMEBODY IS GOING TO WIN $100,000 IN THE BRONCOS’ ANNUAL LOTTERY OF CASH LATER JUST LIKE DAWNA ROBINSON AND JOE SCHEIBER DID LAST YEAR.
The grand prize draw in the Humboldt Broncos’ annual Lottery of Cash may not be a $1 million house but the odds of winning $100,000 are potentially more significant.
The club has a goal of selling 3,000 tickets to raise the amount of funds needed to keep the largest fundraiser of the year viable. One ticket is $100, however if you purchase just one of the 1,000 available five packs for $250 the odds of winning the grand prize are 1/600.
Manager of business operations Chris Beaudry said the financial success of the organization depends on the lottery.
“The Broncos’ lottery is the heartbeat of the organization. This is our largest fundraiser and the financial driver of our team and we need it to be successful,” he said.
The early bird draw worth $10,000 is back again after a year hiatus. Thousands of dollars in prize money are up for grabs. Aside from the grand prize draw there is one ticket worth $5,000; another for $2,500; two $1,000 draws and five $500 prizes. 50/50 tickets are also available; you can purchase one ticket for $20; five for $50; or 20 numbers for $100. Last year’s winner; Darlene Cash took home a cheque over $35,000.
Over the years of the lottery, winners have spread far and wide. The Humboldt region claimed most winners last year. Beaudry said the club appreciates giving out prize money to supporters of the fundraiser.
“The support of this event has been tremendous over the years. Every person who has purchased a ticket in the past has contributed to helping a young man live out his hockey dream,” he said.
The team is seeking volunteers to help sell tickets from the office at the mall; the club is also looking for any non-profit groups that would like to raise money for their own organizations. The team will pay a commission to groups who wish to volunteer and sell tickets. Contact Beaudry at 682-5575 if your group is interested.
Tickets are available on Humboldtbroncos.com; via phone at 1-833-210-2018 or in person at the Humboldt Mall.
