The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt are proud to announce that forward Cade Kennedy has committed to continue his hockey and academic journey with the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).
Kennedy, a Regina, Saskatchewan native, brought experience, intensity, and leadership to the Broncos’ lineup after being acquired from the Estevan Bruins partway through the 2024–25 SJHL season. Known for his strong two-way play and relentless compete level, Cade played a key role down the stretch for Humboldt.
In his final season of junior eligibility, Cade split time between Estevan and Humboldt, tallying 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 53 regular season games. His SJHL career also included time with the Yorkton Terriers, where he began his junior hockey journey. Across three organizations, Cade appeared in 154 SJHL regular season games, notching 34 goals and 36 assists for 70 points.
“Cade was a key contributor to our success after we acquired him,” said Broncos Head Coach and GM Brayden Klimosko. “He filled some major holes in our lineup when injuries hit us late in the season. Cade is a great leader and a proven winner. We’re excited to see what the future holds for him in Red Deer.”
Cade will now take the next step in his hockey career with the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings, a respected ACAC program with a long history of developing players at the post-secondary level.
The entire Humboldt Broncos organization & the City of Humboldt congratulates Cade on this exciting new chapter and thanks him for his contributions to Bronco Nation.
