Martensville, SK — November 3-5, 2025
The junior hockey spotlight will turn north to Martensville next week as the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) showcases its best prospects in the annual Western All‑Star Challenge — a three-day event running November 3 through 5, 2025, and designed to highlight 19-and-under talent for a national stage. sjhl.ca+1
We are thrilled to announce that the Broncos organization will be well represented at the showcase, underscoring our commitment to player development, competitive excellence and advancing careers beyond our rink.
The Western All-Star Challenge features 40 standout players — 20 from the SJHL and 20 from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) — all born in 2006 or younger.
Serving as a feeder event for the World Junior A Challenge and Team Canada West selection, players will be watched by scouts from the NHL, WHL, NCAA and U-SPORTS alike.
For our Broncos, this is a prime chance to compete at a higher level, to showcase their skills beyond our home arena, and to continue building momentum toward their next hockey chapter.
Broncos On The Roster
We are very proud to note the following Humboldt Broncos names were selected for Team SJHL’s U19 roster:
-
Rylan Hue (2007)
-
Kristian Lacelle (2007)
-
Tyce Penrod (2007)
-
Connor Miller (2006)
These young men join the best of the SJHL’s up-and-coming talent and will carry the green & gold with pride on the provincial stage.
Behind the Bench: Hansen Joins Team SJHL Staff
In addition to our players, Broncos Assistant Coach Carter Hansen has been selected as an Assistant Coach for Team SJHL. Hansen’s inclusion is a testament to his strong coaching presence, hockey IQ, and leadership both within the Broncos organization and across the league.
His experience and energy behind the bench have been instrumental in guiding our team this season, and now he’ll help shape the next generation of SJHL stars on a much larger stage.
This selection is not just personal recognition — it stands as a testament to the strength of our developmental program here in Humboldt and the dedication of our players, coaching staff, families and community sponsors. It amplifies our message: Broncos = Opportunity + Progress.
It also sends a clear signal to future players and talent in our region: playing for the Broncos offers real exposure, opportunity and the chance to be part of something bigger.
