Broncos Lose to Bombers

A back and forth affair in the final meeting of the season between the Broncos and the Flin Flon Bombers ended up in a 5-4 defeat.

The Bombers struck twice in the opening three minutes to take an early 2-0 lead. The Broncos battled back with goals from Logan Foster and Tristan Shewchuk to tie it up 2-2 after the 1st period.

In the second, Flin Flon scored a power-play goal to take a 3-2 lead. Max Gudnason then tied it up again with a shorthanded goal midway through the second, and Braiden Koran gave the Broncos their first lead of the game heading into the third.

It went scoreless until 5 minutes remaining in the third period when the Bombers offence capitalized late with two goals to steal a 5-4 victory and two points away from the Broncos.

Tristan Lemyre finished with 5 points, getting involved in all the Bombers goals. Alec Malo and Cole Rafuse each finished with a goal and two assists, while Logan Foster had two points for the green and gold.

Dawson Cochrane was making his first career home start and stopped 36 of 41 shots faced. The Flin Flon Bombers took 4 out of 6 games in the season series.

The Broncos will be back in action on Saturday, December 14th when they host the Melville Millionaires for teddy bear toss night at the EPA.
