The Humboldt Broncos seem to have the Battlefords North Stars number.

It’s been nothing but recent success for the Broncos against the entire Global Ag Risk Division, and especially the Battelfords North Stars. Humboldt picked up their ninth straight victory inside their division and fifth straight against the North Stars in a 6-2 win on Saturday night.

It was the Broncos first win of 2022 and they have now outscored the Battlefords 27-10 over the five-game win streak between the two teams.

Alex Morozoff (10, 11) and Rhett Gibson (4, 5) both finished with a pair of goals for the Broncos, with Lucas Ceccarelli (13), and Cody Hough (4) rounding out the scoring.

Keiton Klein and Tynan Ewart found the back of the net for the North Stars, but it was Broncos’ goaltender Rayce Ramsay who stopped 25 of 27 in net for his league-leading 26th victory of the season.

Reilly McKinnon, Cage Newans, Hough, Gibson, Ceccarelli, and Morozoff all finished with multi-point efforts.

The Broncos improved their record to 28-9-0-0 and remain in first place in the SJHL with 56 points.

It won’t be long before the Broncos return to action. They’ll be back on home ice less than 24 hours later when they look for revenge against the Melville Millionaires, who handed the Broncos a 5-3 loss on January 4th.
