The Broncos have progressed since Darcy Haugan took over as Head Coach three seasons ago, so has defenseman Logan Boulet.

The 20 year-old Lethbridge product has grown into a 60 minute rearguard for the Broncos.  The club has been up-and-down through the first half of the season compiling impressive wins and slight losses.  The most recent, a fourth straight 3-2 loss to the Battlefords Stars.  Boulet said the Stars have been a thorn in his side for three seasons.

“We’ve been up 2-1 in each game then they tie it in the third and win in extra time, it’s so frustrating,” Boulet said.

It’s been 17 games since the Broncos have beat the Stars, Boulet said that’s been an issue.

“Our division is incredibly tight this year and the Stars have intensified that” Boulet added.

The club now sits third in their division before heading north to Flin Flon this weekend in back to back games. Boulet said two wins is the goal of the Broncos’ weekend.

“Flin Flon is a beatable team, we haven’t seen them in a couple months but just based on what teams have seen going up there they don’t seem like Flin Flon of the past,” Boulet said.

Humboldt heads into the weekend five points back of Notre Dame for their division lead.
