The Humboldt Broncos will enter into an extended break on a winning note as they completed a weekend sweep of their Nutrien Division rival Kindersley Klippers.
On Sunday, the Broncos beat the Klippers 4-1, extending their winning streak to seven games.
Kindersley opened the scoring with the opening goal, but the Broncos answered with four goals to earn the victory.
Jeter Korte scored the first Bronco for the second straight night, tying the game 1-1.
Rylan Hue moved the green and gold ahead in the second period, knocking a loose rebound from an Owen Chapman opportunity.
With Humboldt shorthanded to begin the third period, Hue scored on a breakaway, providing the Broncos with a much-needed insurance goal.
Brayden Skogstad finished off the scoring with an empty-netter.
Charlie Tritt made 20 saves to improve his record to 11-2.
Jacob Strizzi collected his 200th point in the CJHL with an assist on Korte’s goal. He also extended his point streak to 15 games.
With the four points from the weekend, Humboldt is now four points ahead of the Klippers for top spot in the league standings.
Next action for the Broncos is Friday, November 14, when they visit the Whitney Forum and meet the Flin Flon Bombers.
