The Humboldt Broncos avenged their losses to the Melville Millionaires, defeating the Mills 4-1 on the road Tuesday night.

For the third straight game against the Millionaires, the Broncos scored the game’s opening goal, as Connor McGrath tucked home his 21st of the season for an early 1-0 lead. Once again, mirroring the prior two contests, the Millionaires wouldn’t go away, tying the game at 1-1, this time of the stick of Enrique Fontes.

With momentum taking a brief swing in favour of the Mills, the Broncos quickly changed the narrative and never looked back.

Braiden Koran scored his first of two tallies on the night just 18 seconds after the Fontes goal to restore a one-goal lead. Then 2:35 later, Koran found the back of the net again for his 18th of the year to give the Broncos a 3-1 lead.

The lead was safe in the third. Reilly McKinnon notched his third goal of the season as an insurance marker and Bronco’s goalie, Rayce Ramsay turned aside all seven shots in the final frame, 21 of 22 all combined, for his 28th win on the year.

The Broncos improve their record to 30-11-0-0, and 3-3-0-0 in 2022. They currently sit in first place in the SJHL.

Humboldt will travel to Yorkton looking for three straight wins on Saturday, January 22nd.
