The Humboldt Broncos are proud to announce the commitment of Humboldt native and 2007-born defenseman AJ Paulsen for the 2025-26 season.
Paulsen, raised in Humboldt, is currently in his first season with Prairie Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep Program where he’s put up 15 points (2g-13a) in 31 games.
“AJ is a big kid first of all. That type of size on your blueline is incredibly sought after and hard to find. That size gives him an incredible reach which covers a good amount of ice in the D-zone. He’s a Humboldt kid which we love and has a mean streak in his game which we also love. AJ’s potential is undeniable and we’re looking forward to working with him for years to come,” said Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko.
Paulsen, a towering 6’5 – 195lbs blueliner, has spent the last three years at the Prairie Hockey Academy moving throughout U16-U18. Prior to his tenure at PHA in Caronport, SK, he grew up through the Humboldt Minor Hockey system at the Elgar Petersen Arena.
AJ is the younger brother of Mclaren Paulsen who played 17 games as a Bronco in the 2022-23 season.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt are proud to have AJ and his family in the organization and community.
