05’ Forward Kye Benoche commits to Broncos for 2024/25 Season

The Humboldt Broncos are happy to announce that Kye Benoche has committed to playing for the Humboldt Broncos for the 2024/25 SJHL season.

Benoche, a Campbell River, BC native, split his rookie season this past year between the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express and the NCDC’s New Jersey Rockets.

“We feel Kye can immediately step into our lineup and contribute in a top-6 role offensively. He’s a versatile player who can play both centre and wing. We are not only getting a good hockey player who competes on every shift, but also a tremendous teammate and person who has come highly recommended,” said Head Coach and GM Scott Barney.

After playing 18 games with Coquitlam, he joined the New Jersey Rockets and was a point-per-game player with 22 points (8g, 14a) in 23 regular season games, and scored 4 goals in 3 playoff games.

He established himself as a young offensive threat with two seasons in the VIJHL (British Columbia Jr. B) as a 16- and 17-year-old, finishing with 32 points (10g-22a) in 43 games as a 16-year-old, and 47 points (21g-26a) in 46 games in his sophomore season.

The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Kye and his family to the organization and community.
