The Humboldt Broncos are happy to announce that Connor Thue (04) has committed to playing for the Broncos for the 2023/24 SJHL season.
Thue, a Manhattan Beach, CA, USA native, competed this season with the prestigious Shattuck’s St. Mary’s USHS-Prep program, arguably the top prep-school program in North America, where he collected 27 points (1g, 26a) in 54 games played.
“Connor is a player that we’ve targeted for over a year now. Our fans should be really excited about him because he’s a player that will instantly contribute to our lineup. Shattuck’s is as elite of a prep school as you will find in North America, so for him to choose the Broncos, says a lot about our program and we’re really excited. We’ve always made it our goal to be a destination where players can secure their post secondary commitments. His goal is to play NCAA Division 1 hockey. With his skillset and our track record of commitments over the past few years, we believe it’s the perfect fit to get him there,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney.
Thue is listed at 5’10, 185 and will celebrate his 19th birthday before the start of the 2023/24 season.
Before making the jump to the top program this past season at Shattuck’s, Thue dominated their U18 AAA group in 2021-22, posting 68 points (14g,54a) in 59 games, finishing third in the league among all defensemen in scoring.
The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Connor and his family to the organization and community.
